It's been a while.
I apologise for not posting for a while, I have been collating pics of trends I feel you need to know about for Christmas.
Talking of Christmas, we are now getting into the party season. You have friends party's, winter weddings, work Christmas Parties that you may or may not want to go to but feel you have too. However, it is about making you look and feel the part and great in what you are wearing.
We have sparkles, pastels, monochrome trends throughout the high street and designer brands. Here are my favourite pieces for the current trends, if you have pieces that you can pull out of your wardrobe to work with these, even better.
Black Friday is here, if you have been eyeing something up for a while and find it discounted, great! Think about what you buy, does it fit in with your other pieces? Will you get the wear out of it for more than one occasion? Try and think ethical fashion!
I want to start off with sparkles, Christmas makes us sparkle mad. This season the trend continues and there is no end of it in stores at the moment.
Winter white outfits are everywhere! Think of your lifestyle, will it be practical?
Blush, Fucsia, pastels, raspberry's ..... Pinks are in! So it's all about finding which suits you
Think big, bold and gems!
You can go for a plain outfit and go Huge with accessories, go delicate but sparkly.
Supporting the independents! Remember the little people, The earrings below are amazing for the current trends. My lovely friend and fellow stylist has started her company Farrow Low, please go and have a look at her facebook page. Her pieces are stunning and very reasonably priced. The link is below for their facebook, where you can place your orders
This is NOT a paid ad. I love her pieces and believe in supporting new and small businesses.
I have been speaking to a lot of women who don't know what to wear through this heatwave, you can't wear your holiday/beachwear or you don't feel comfortable to but also you can't bare the idea of shopping when all you can find is winter knits and coats. AW18 has dropped into stores and more and more wintery pieces are coming through, however I know the high street brands have jumped onto the fact we are having a heat wave and are showing us some easy to wear throw on pieces as part of their new collections.
Linens, easy throw ons and wedding ready pieces. Really simple garments that can be worn into autumn with denim/leather jackets, boots and throw a knit over the top when it gets cooler.
Studio B Fashion
If you've never heard of this online retailer before, go and check her out! She supports new and upcoming brands and you will find some wonderful finds on her website, she stock brands such as Rixo, Baum und Pferdgarten, Gestuz, Johanna Sands, Stone Goya and more. You will find top picks on this website and Bethany's customer service is second to none.
Zara's older, cooler sister comes in the form of UTERQUE! This effortlessly cool brand was brought to my attention by one of my clients and I can't get enough of it. If you like the pieces I have picked, check out their website!
Olivia Rubin is a British designer and is known for her bold prints. I am in love with the collection at the moment. The A line structured skirts with Jackets, the sequins and the bright colour pops to carry us from summer to autumn.
These A line skirts both come with suit jackets for a gorgeous twist for a work look/going out or wedding!
Bimba y Lola
Spanish Fashion with a difference, this brand is on trend but with it's own twist. Oversized pieces are one of their specialties with large accessories. They are on trend but I love the colours and fabrics and you can find some real summer staples.
Links are attached to all pictures. I am NOT paid to promote any of these brands, they are just my top picks at the moment :)
I'm sorry I haven't been on here for a while, I have been researching and super busy with clients but I am still here if anyone needs to get in touch.
I wanted to post about a brand I have recently discovered, I know that everyone is on the search for the perfect summer dresses due to the sunshine looking to stay. Unfortunately autumn winter has started hitting the shops and it is not what we want to be wearing right now, anything summery has been snapped up.
Today I found an investment piece brand. An Italian designer who creates lightweight dresses made from cotton, silk and linen. Gioia dresses are made in Florence, Italy and the website/instagram is well worth a look at https://www.gioiabini.com, their Moto is that 'each dress tells a story'
She looks at body shapes and textures so they work well together and the dresses always look amazing. The softer textures are cut for softer lines and the stiffer cottons/linens are cut on squarer a line shapes to work for different body shapes.
Take a look and let me know what you think, it seems you can only get them at Matches.com currently but I am super excited about these dresses and think they will be making their way into everyones wardrobe as their go to summer piece.
The square necked maxi dresses, great to add shape with a more structured diamond woven cotton. Coming in pale blue, pink and an off white. These are amazing dresses for anyone that loves their shoulders, wants to show off their waist or give the illusion of hips.
These 2 are super pretty dresses, with slightly thicker shoulder straps, a sweetheart neckline and a ruffled hem. You will bring out the girly part of you. These look great are 100% linen to keep cool and they come in different prints and colours. The length is great for the heat wave. This is a lovely shape for a lot of women, I think the straps could be worn on of off the shoulder.
Then there are the shirt dresses, great to keep cool and be protected from the heat.
Have a look below and see what you think and if you love them as much as me :)
We all love a good bargain, some ladies wait especially for it and others of us get carried away with how much of a bargain things are and buy it anyway.
Let me ask you a question. How many garments do you still have in your wardrobe that still have the sale label on?
We buy into clothes that aren't right, don't fit in your capsule wardrobe and end up never getting worn.
That RED drawers you in, red to our brain is inviting. This is why they use it and red pen prices seem so much more of a bargain than if they were done in black.
Here is some bargain shopping advice, ask yourself these questions while you are shopping:
Now the Royal Wedding has been and gone we can start thinking about our outfits for the event season ahead. For anyone coming to my event on the 7th June we will be talking event wear, how to chose the right hat and shoes to go with your dress and how to make the decision on your outfit.
I have been looking at event dressing and what options there are out there. I like to be able to put anything into my capsule wardrobe but sometimes you just need a show stopping one off piece, I would however recommend hire so you aren't spending ££££ for it to never be worn again. I have looked at high street and designer.
These dresses need very little accessories, they all shout elegance. They are still not structured but have sophistication, these dresses are perfect for grand evening events. All these dresses can be worn for any occasion, I have categorised purely for a bit of variety.
Printed dresses are the thing to have in your wardrobe this season. If you don't like print these won't be for you but you can usually find something you end up loving if it is right. There is so much variety to chose from everyone seems to be able to find their perfect match.
These are pieces that can fit in your capsule, you can wear them casually as well as dressed up to look the part. Be careful when choosing hats to go with your print, if you aren't that tall try and chose a hat that is the same as the majority colour on the dress or the one nearest the neck if like the Rixo dress there is more than one print. This is a trick to help elongate you, wearing a different colour will give the appearance of being shorter than you are.
There are a huge amount of 2 pieces around this season, if you are like me and struggle with fitting dresses as your body is a different size on the top as it is on the bottom or just want a little more emphasis on your waist go for a 2 piece. Top/skirt, top/trousers look amazing together and super dressy and then separately also, dress up or down.
Click on the pictures for all links to these pieces.
For any further questions do not hesitate to get in contact with me. This is just a brief and examples of my favourite pieces, for advice on shape/colour and pattern fill in an inquiry form and I will get back to you as soon as possible
Pops of block colour for summer. The big colours are reds, blues, yellows, white, green etc. Any block bright or white for SS18.
Here are a few of my favourites in stores at the moment
As a stylist I get asked a lot about how to wear fashion whilst still looking age appropriate. How to be fashion forward but still dress for your age.
There is no age limit on fashion it just depends how bold you want to be and which trends you want to try.
Take a look at my client, she has amazing taste but this outfit looks on trend, we have espadrilles, frills, check and an asymmetric hem. These are all items on trend for SS18.
What an amazing event on Thursday evening. I hosted an event in Old Amersham at the Grocer, the venue was amazing, the clothing was brilliant and the clients were fantastic.
The event was focusing on a Summer capsule wardrobe. I went through what makes up a capsule wardrobe and how to work it for summer.
I wanted to share a few pictures on my blog as I am so thankful to my team of wonderful friends that helped and supported me in my first event and I look forward to working on my next one.
Thank you to all the wonderful businesses that helped and supported this event. Herbert & Isles Florist, Ethereal London, Parasol Rose, Henderson Bags, Odette Lingerie, Helen Bannon (Hair and Make up) and Iris Fashion.
I will leave you with a little slide show of the evening, can't wait for the next one :)
On this dreary day I had to do a holiday shop.
I have found some key pieces that will be able to come out year after year when packing your suit case. If you are coming to my event on the 3rd May I will be going through how to create a capsule wardrobe for your summer pieces. How to gain the most out of your wardrobe and how to maximise what is already in it.
Think about what you are buying, does the price put you off even if you love it? Spend more, buy less. This will give you the foundation of your wardrobe, the pieces you bring out year after year, remember cost per wear.

Dresses and Jumpsuits
I find I buy a lot dresses for clients in the summer. I think they are real key pieces but you don't need too many. You can create different looks with dresses and create different outfits. I put them with cropped knits and trainers, little T's underneath. Wear with heels or flats. wrap dresses can be worn open as long floaty jackets. They are really wearable and real investment pieces.
Linen Vests are always a must have (or T's), they are comfortable and breathable. Try bright colours, they won't seem as harsh due to the sheerness of the fabric. Go for natural fabrics for your summer capsule, they will last longer and will be more comfortable in heat.
I like to always have a black knit in my capsule, I throw it on over everything. Think about making different outfits with the same garments.
Floaty sleeves and boho styles again are always a winner in summer.
Lots of Boho floaty styles around this spring summer so you may have to get things taken up (if you have shorter legs) but length doesn't seem to matter. Bright or white and floaty, the perfect holiday pieces.
Swimwear is one of the hardest pieces to buy into without seeing it on the body it is intended for. It is a really hard thing to buy online also.
I hate bikini shopping for myself as I feel everyone does. There are some great brands out there who do specialise in larger cup sizes but sometimes they are the same styles which only larger cups, straps need to be wider and the bikini should stay up without the straps on for support.
Heidi Klein has some styles specially for D-G cup, these are made well for larger bust sizes.
I am so in love with Accessories this season, I'm coming round to the 60's style sunglasses and I know they will not be for everyone as they are a real SS18 shape.
I am enjoying all the colourful pieces, lots of gold jewellery and shoes. Pull out all your white accessories if you have them as white is here for summer!
There are a huge number of co-ordinating pieces out there this season. These are fab investments, they can be worn in so many different ways. Together as a top and skirt combo, separately, make them look like a dress etc.
THIS BLOG IS NOT AN AD FOR ANY OF THE COMPANIES USED, THIS IS JUST ME FINDING STYLES THAT I LOVE.
