S Robins Styling
Looking on the high street is the best way to start your shopping or for what you may be lacking in your wardrobe. I look all the time at new pieces to see where high street is going next. You can find your own style and twist it to a contemporary or on trend look. Find your street style.
I had a little look in Zara the other day and I am loving the colours, the summer shapes are becoming a little less straight and are more adjustable to fit anyone with a curve. As a mum I like to get day wear that is practical as well as Stylish. I love new fashions. and styles that hit the high street and are represented well.
The majority of my Zara pieces are trousers. The first image is the paperboy wide leg stripe trouser; they aren't too extreme but have pulled the trend off perfectly. These trousers are great for adding length to the legs and accentuating the waist. Be careful what you put it with though, this work well for an androgynous look.
Fab hoops, bringing a pop of colour, fringe detail. These bring a bit of 'wow' to a plain outfit or go OTT with a fun bright one.
The all important Kimono, I am desperate to see what the one on the left is like as that isn't on the web yet but the soft teal dress/jacket is a beautiful piece to use for layering or just on it's own.
Palazzo pants, gorgeous summer, lightweight colour. I am hoping they are not see through and would love to see them in the flesh and would be interested in the fit. These are fantastic to hide of give hips. If you have hips make sure the tie is in the middle and not running down your hip.
These silver crops are my favourite by far but just not on me. I tried them on and the way they are cut doesn't accommodate everyones shape. They are pull up so have an elasticated waist, this means if you have hips they are a tight squeeze to get on and then they don't fit at the waist. But if you have small hips they are perfect! These will give an illusion of a waist, they are comfortable and work well for everyday looks.
Topshop have some great summer bits that are great for home or away. The summer on trend looks are always available in Topshop and sometimes its hoping they are going to suit your style and shape. I have to be honest, sometimes I find toyshop very young in the stores and maybe a little too on trend without thinking of the shapes and sizes of customers who will be shopping with them.
Here are a few of my favourites
The red top just jumped out at me whenever I have been on the website, I love the broderie frill sleeve, it is made of cotton so is lovely and breathable. If you colour is red this top if one to have in the wardrobe at £24 I think its a great every day T that can be dressed up or down. It would look great tucked in or out and also comes in black.
Straight leg jeans are a must in your wardrobe, they are a great fit for everyone. these have the added tassel detail for the on trend look but I think the tassels are a nice touch. The only downside is if you have to get them taken up but normally Topshop are good with their petite and tall ranges.
The glasses are just an add on. They remind me of when I was young and my friend and I have the coloured glasses. I love the aviator shape with a twist. A bit of fun to add a bit of 'Bella' to your look.
Kimonos are part of the Pyjama look this season. If you don't feel you can do the whole look go for this kimono. This Kimono is great for any ladies who are broader on the shoulders than the hips, this will draw the eyes down to your legs. If you have a waist and want to show it off, belt it.
You can't beat some cheap and cheerful H&M. If you are lucky enough you can find some real key pieces that are good quality here. They do some of the best wrap dresses for not a lot of money. I always look. They target everyone and always have that lovely Scandinavian twist.
I have picked pieces from H&M that jumped out at me from their new in range.
First we have the cotton wrap dress, this on has a lovely fine stripe, a belt and collar. Ideal for all shapes. I love the wrap dress over jeans look, so being worn as a top. It can be dress up or down as a dress. The lovely thing about wrap dresses is that can be worn anyway you like, they can reflect your mood, occasion and your style.
This skirt is beautiful, be careful with pleats, if soft then can be worn by more body shapes. The reason I put this skirt on here is because of the pleats with the colours, with a plain white T it is a great look. This could look great as a maxi skirt on someone shorter or a midi on someone taller. Slightly more expensive for H&M at £49.99 but it is worth spending that little bit extra.
The dress, this is a simple nude Bardot dress, lovely frill, great day wear dress if you want to look pretty. Put with a heavier sandal to dress it down.
This black dress is £12.99. This is something I would wear over a bikini as a cover up, I can't believe the price of it. You can't go wrong with this cover up.
A couple of T's, both great with jeans skirts or trousers to dress up a look. We can't get enough of logo t's this season, they are great wardrobe fillers and you will find it being a go to.
The Tulle T, depending on how risky you want to be, wear with a bralet or put a vest top on underneath (if you don't want to show too much skin). The frill at the bottom is great for adding volume to your hips.
