Always unpredictable British summer time leaves us unsure of what to wear, it's too warm to get your woollies on but not warm enough to bare all your skin!
I have been trawling newness across the internet to find ready to wear clothes that are suitable for the here and now, day to day outfits. Layer up as you never know what the weather is going to do next. Here are some of my finds. Try and look at things you can mix and match, remember to get the most from your wardrobe.
Firstly jackets are essential! They are a perfect layering piece and can be quite universal for different body types. The Blazer is a Parisian essential, dress down with a boyfriend jean or skirt or put over a dress for a smart, authoritative look. Karl Largerfeld @netaporter
Kimono's are everywhere this summer, this one is quite toned down so works well when the sky are grey or when bright over a bright T/sweat. This Maje kimono has subtle detail, I like the smarter look of this kimono which makes it more versatile. Maje @netaporter
The two coats are both Topshop. The khaki lightweight trench has gorgeous waist detail and works well open or closed, when open it gives a much more oversized look. The pale blue duster is perfect for spring summer. A gorgeous pale blue/grey, it keeps your outfit looking summery while keeping you covered. Both @topshop
At the moment one minute I want to be in a T shirt and the next minute I want to be in something heavier. Wearing a sweat is sometimes the way to go just simply because they are normally thinner and can be worn with skirts, trousers, shorts and dresses to casual an outfit.
The yellow fine cashmere knit is by Jil Sanders, the pop of colour is essential for this time of year, we like to look like we are dressed for summer even if it is really keeping us warm against the cold of weather reality. Cashmere is a gorgeous fabric, it keeps you warm and is super soft. Definitely worth investing in. Good quality cashmere is always more pricey but it will last as long as you take care of it. Jil Sander @netaporter
Printed denim shirt, because double denim is a must this season. Perfect layering piece. @Topshop
I found this cardigan this morning and love it, it's got a great print which can be worn with pretty much anything. Dress up or down, great length and touched detail sleeves. The foliage print in this garment works with a lot of tones and the navy background means you could even wear it to work and not be too loud. @Zara
This sweat is a very 80's print, the pale tones are almost icy. Oversized which can work extremely well. Wear over jeans, trousers or skirts. I love a sweat with a pair of leather slim leg trousers. @acnestudios
Black sequin hoody gives a piece of sparkle on a grey day. Dress your skirts down and your trousers up. @otherstories
This yellow T gives a pop of colour and can be layered well. Perfect summer layering piece and when its warm enough to get your arms out it can be worn on it's own. Also has a high neck is good for anyone with a smaller chest. @otherstories
I haven't gone for anything short here, in my opinion it is not warm enough to bare legs fully. The first two skirts have a cheeky split for a little leg show but not too much, your legs will still be covered. These skirts both work well with a clashing heavier boot or trainer but also with a heel or sandal. The foliage print if you want a brighter print or the leopard for a softer look. Both skirts are silk so can be dressed up or dressed down. You won't get too hot in them either if the sun decides to show. @rixolondon
Lightweight linen wide leg trousers. Perfect to put with a cropped sweat or T or an oversized knit in colder weather. try cardigan. Always go for a heavier shoe with a wide leg trouser. @topshop
These Mango wide leg split side jeans would be the perfect jean on the right person. They are wide, lightweight and with the split detail they work perfectly for those warmer days. @mango
The next 3 pieces are from Donna Ida denim collection. First the star boyfriend cropped jean, the perfect piece for you wardrobe. The cropped kick flare is gorgeous for summer and works well with boots so when its colder you can have the element of both seasons.
I love a leather trouser, they edge every outfit up and work well with a pointed court shoe or a trainer (in my opinion) these ones from Donna Ida are a jogger cut but look more of a taper, put with anything for a great on trend outfit, these can be worn to how you want them styled. @donnaidadenim
To finish off. I love to add a pop of colour or detail to my footwear, this can completely change an outfit. The @gucci mules come in colours, high, mid and flats, loafer styles so you can chose what you want that will best suit your lifestyle.
The black sandals have detail, ankle and ow at the front with a gold heel. @chloe @netaporter
The bottom two are both @otherstories, metallics can dress an outfit up or down. The flat fringe red slip ons are key, on trend shoes, they look fab with denim. @otherstories
